Link Your Photos Week 2 in December {The Colors Project}

If you’re just tuning in for the first time and are wondering what The Colors Project is, you can read all about it here…and here….and here.

I used this month’s inspiration board to inspire baking some super yummy sugar cookies!  You can get the recipe for the sugar cookies {and royal icing} here.

Now lets see what inspired projects you’ve been up to!?  Link up you photos.

1st Photo Link-Up Party {The Colors Project in December}

I was feeling pretty inspired from last week’s post {see it here} and feeling extreme Holiday excitement, so I wound down with a cup of black cherry cappuccino in my new vintage mug and a yummy organic candy cane!

I love decorating with crisp whites, delicious reds and neutral brown tones.  It definitely screams HOLIDAY but not in an obnoxious way.

Here is a super simple idea for a holiday centerpiece, or flower arrangement {below}.  What do you think??

Now, for my first ever link up party, I want to see where your holiday photo posts took you??  Could be of your kids, projects, nature, lovely pets…you be the judge.

The Colors Project {December Edition}

Its the first Monday in December and as promised {here} I am launching a new month long inspiration campaign, complete with a weekly link up party and an end of month giveaway.

So to refresh your memory here are the details:

- At the beginning of the month I post a mood board.

- I will use this mood board throughout the month to inspire photographs, projects etc…

- You are challenged to do the same.  To use my mood board and photograph beautiful events, moments, projects and YOUR every day life and LINK UP to my Colors Project post every Monday.  Your photos could be of your children, a baking adventure, shopping trip….etc.

- At the end of the month I will select up to 10 photos from the week {2 from each week} and will hold vote for the most inspiring photograph.  The one that embodies the mood board the best.  The winner will get a beautiful prize {you can submit one photograph per week}.

**Note that if you do not have a blog and therefore cannot link up but would still like to participate, you’re welcome to email me your photo submission to ana{at}bluebirdkisses{dot}com and I will post it on your behalf on the Friday of every week.**

This month I am feeling rather traditional.  Maybe its as a result of all of the holiday decor in stores, or the Christmas carols blaring over the radio in the morning.  But I am just head over heels for teal, red, gold …and a touch of linen {my fave}.

I am just drooling over earth tones, combined with classic Christmas colors.  And the thought of using these photos to create and photograph this month is super exciting!

Keep this in mind this week when you’re baking, photographing, crafting and just living your life.  If you see something that inspires you, photograph it, blog it, and link up here next Monday, December 12.

Oh, and the giveaway this month will be a beautiful vintage sewing kit in a mason jar by pi’lo.  I just purchased one myself at the One of a Kind Show {more on that later this week} and its oh so lovely.   I never want to even use it because its so beautiful as a display item.

So make sure you have your cameras ready!!  Take lots of beautiful inspiring photos and remember to link up next Monday when I will be posting my inspiration photos as well.

The Colors Project and a Link Up Party Reveal!

Almost 2 weeks ago I posted this post and inspiration board,

Here I hinted that I was planning something.  Something that would draw mine and your inspiration.  Something that would be fun, yet real.  Lovely and pure.

So without going on for too long here is what the “Colors Project” is all about.

On the 1st of each month I post an inspiration board, like this one above.  I will use this board to inspire projects, cooking, life, even shopping excursions.  I will photograph these moments and share them with you every MONDAY.

But that’s not all.

I challenge you to do the same.  To use my mood board and photograph beautiful events, moments, projects and YOUR evey day life and LINK UP to my Colors Project post every Monday {and on going for the week}.

At the end of the month I will select 10 photos from the week {2 from each week} and will hold vote for the most inspiring photograph.  The one that embodies the mood board the best.  The winner will get a beautiful prize which I will announce along with the initial Mood Board.

If you do not have a blog and therefore cannot link up but would still like to participate, you’re welcome to email me your photo submission to ana{at}bluebirdkisses{dot}com and I will post it on your behalf on the Friday of every week.

So I hope you’re as excited as I am!  I LOVE colors, especially in the winter months when everything seems so gray and dreary.  Therefore there is no better time to begin The Colors Project than on December 1st.  So stay tuned!!

Meanwhile here is a snipet of what is to come!

The Colors Project – a mini hint for what’s to come

A month ago I started taking a blogging course, Blogging Your Way, through Decor8.  I want to make this blog something special, to find my key voice and bring it to life.  I want to do more than just post pretty pictures and talk about my mommy experiences.

I want to inspire you.  To build a community and make friends, in addition to sharing my mommy life through pretty pictures {because lets be honest we ALL like to look at pretty pictures right?!}.

After nearly 4 weeks in the BYW course I feel inspired, and excited for the future.  I won’t divulge all future secrets just yet…  but here’s a mini sneak peak for what’s to come.

{my mood board for BYW course}

How does this mood board translate into life?  Colors create an overall feeling, a “mood” so to speak…hence the term “mood board”.  You can use this to inspire an outfit, a decor design, or a DIY project.  Here are some examples below.
