The Last of Amsterdam

Looking back on it I still can’t quite believe that we’ve been back from Amsterdam for over a week.  I mean when you think about it, really, really think about it…time never stands still.  Sometimes it feels like it is perhaps on fast forward, zooming by faster than we can process what’s even happening.

During our last days we spent our time just much the same as the days prior, with lots of laughter food and walking.  I had the opportunity to meet Madelon, my Instagram buddy and amazingly beautiful mama {I featured her son’s room during the trip}.  I tend to get nervous before meeting online/blogging/IG friends…usually I’m nervous that they might not be as sweet and lovely as they appear to be in their online personas.  But Madelon was every bit the way I had imagined her to be.  I hope this won’t be our one and only meeting.

I {we} will miss Amsterdam.  The yummy cheese, the people, the beautiful canals and quaint water-side cafes.  But most of all we’ll miss our time together as a family.  While we are together always at home, its not the same as spending 10 work free, stress free, plan free days together.

Wonderful post, Ana. It is so true, what you’ve said here about time — Whether we feel it’s going fast or slow, it just keeps marching, doesn’t it?
