We’re back from NYC. We actually returned on Sunday but I so needed a day to just spend time with my baby and give him all the snuggles that I missed out on over the weekend.
Michael and I left for New York early Thursday morning. We drove J together to my mom and dad’s, said our goodbyes and headed to the airport.
Neither Michael nor I had ever been to NYC before {I know, I know… I can almost see your eyes rolling}. But we had a great time. Most of our time was spent walking and eating yummy food. We met Monica {who has an amazing giveaway going on right now here} and spent time with my college roommate and bestie Brittany.
We dug into a delicious Shake Shack burger, walked the highline and enjoyed sunset drinks on the Honorable William Wall {a little surprise adventure Brit and her boyfriend took us on}.
At the end of the 3 days though both Michael and I were ready and eager to see our little boy. We could hardly talk about anything else except for J as we feasted on a large platter of seafood in the South Seaport. Although we Skyped with him every day that we were away, it was just not the same as holding him in our arms and breathing in his sweet baby boy smell. When we arrived at my parents’ to pick him up, he was napping. It took everything in me not to run upstairs and wake him up. But I assure you I’ve more than made up for it since then…both Michael and I have. And now we’re getting ready for a busy two weeks followed by our family trip to Amsterdam. Its going to be a busy yet exciting fall season in this house.

and home again…with NYPD cars in hand

Looks like you had a blast! I’m so jealous that you got to experience Shake Shack!
Looks like a great time
I didn’t realize you’d never been. No eye rolling here, but I’m sure you want to go back!
Where are your pink flats from (in the forth picture)?
Steffie they are from Holtrenfrew in Canada. They are the anniversary edition
***holt renfrew. Two words not one. They take phone orders and definitely FedEx
Randalin its so so good! I’ve been obsessed with trying it since watching “Something Borrowed”…don’t laugh…but its definitely worth it. I think someone should petition that they come to canada and open a shack here
Oh what a great time y’all had! I really want to go to New York soon, but I don’t know if it’s going to happen. Your photos are lovely as always – you have such an eye!
