We’re back from our weekend up north and what an amazing time we had.
When I was growing up I would always come up North on long weekends with friends. We’d camp or go to someone’s cottage. We would spend the days on end outside, swimming in the lake, making spidey dogs by the fire. **If you don’t know what spidey dogs are – you take a hot dog and cut the ends into 6 equal pieces, roast it on the fire and the “legs” curl up like a spider….they are delicious with mustard and an ice cold beer.**
Since finishing university, moving to Vancouver, getting engaged, moving back to Toronto, getting married and having Johannes, I have not been back up North. Michael and Johannes have never been either, so when our friends suggested we join them on a family weekend to the JW Marriott Resort, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
Turns out this was one of the best decisions we made this summer in regards to travel. The resort was beautiful, clean, very baby friendly. There was nothing better than waking up to the view of the lake, and Johannes loved every minute of it.
Over the course of this week I will share our little family vacation with you, since there are too many pictures to share in one post, and I’m having a difficult time picking just a few.
Hope you all had as lovely a weekend!
Drunken-bear was so happy to be on vacation, he could hardly contain his excitement and ran straight for the patio door to check everything out as soon as we checked in.

We headed straight for the pool once we checked in.

What a great idea to have a rubber bottom baby splash pad. Johannes loved it so much he threw tantrums daily when we tried to take him away from the fun.

Yay!! So glad y’all had such a great trip! I can’t wait to see the rest of your photos. It looked beautiful on Instagram!!
