so excited for new shoes, just like mama
Sometimes I feel as though I blink and the boys have shot up another inch and outgrown their shoes yet again. Its pretty crazy keeping up with everything and while I can easily use some of Johannes’ old clothes for Magnus I can’t do that as much with shoes. I find those get destroyed on the playgrounds and muddy puddles. Every season I go through our mud room and toss what is completely unwearable, donate the stuff that just has some holes in it but can maybe be salvaged for parts, and then start the shoe buying process all over again. And gosh kid shoes are expensive!!! The good ones can cost up to $80 each, which is ludicrous for toddlers and small kindergarteners isn’t it?!
Magnus would like to put them all on by himself
I spend quite a bit of time searching for affordable, comfortable shoes for the boys, ones that still have some brand recognition because Johannes is at the age where it matters and he has an opinion, but ones I don’t break the bank buying either. So I was very excited when the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, known for major discounted brand name shoes for adults, was opening a few locations with a selection of shoes for kids. Their prices are at least 40% less than retail costs and if you’re super lucky, you can find great deals in their clearance sections which can typically be up to 70% off! $30 Nike shoes??! um yes please! Oh and I managed to snag myself a comfy new pair of short UGGS to wear to the hospital too! Wohoo!
mama’s got a new pair of kicks at 40% off!
