It turns out that when I started eating healthier a few months ago Michael decided to join me on that journey. He didn’t really make a big announcement or even really talk about it too much but he started eating cleaner, working out more and making that time that we both need to do things for our health.
I mean its no secret that we love food, so with Father’s Day fast approaching we will be spending it at home with our family and our kids enjoying delicious food and maybe a glass of wine or two. Now lets hope for sunshine and good weather so we can do it all in the back yard.
For months now I’ve had the Philips TurboStar Analog AirFryer in my Amazon basket for months, so I was so excited to partner with Philips this year and finally try it out for myself, especially with Father’s Day around the corner. I mean the yummy food possibilities are endless for us now, and I can make them healthy, by skipping the oil. The Philips TurboStar Analog Airfryer uses superheated air to fry foods with little or no oil. Food is exposed to constant, circulating heat that cooks it evenly without the need for turning or stirring. Its so cool, and the cleanup is crazy easy. Most of the parts can be washed in the machine and because there’s no oil, the rest isn’t messy or hard to clean quickly with a wet towel.
The first thing I wanted to try making were fries, not just any fries…AVOCADO FRIES! yes its a thing! First they are incredible, so delicious, full of good fats, and they can be eaten on their own, with a dip or as a salad topper. Seriously life changing though, you guys have to make them, and Father’s Day is maybe the perfect time to try them out. The AirFryer makes them perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside, I can’t quite explain how delicious they are, you need to try them! Its no wonder that the Philips TurboStar Analog AirFryer just won the Parent Tested Parent Approved (PTPA) Award!!
Ok so here’s how to make them:
2 ripe but firm avocados, pitted and cut into wedges (I cut mine into 8 wedges each)
1 cup whole wheat corn flake crumbs
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup of flour
1 tbsp water
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp sriracha sauce
Set up three wide mouth bowls. One with flour, one with the eggs beaten with 1 tbsp water, and the last one with the breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
First dip all the avocado wedges in flour and shake off excess. Dip in egg and then coat with breadcrumb mix. Place all the wedges in the Philips TurboStar Analog AirFryer Set heat to 350 degrees F and turn on for 10 minutes. At the 10 minute mark shake and turn the wedges to make sure they’re all even. Turn Philips TurboStar Analog AirFryer on for 10 more minutes. No preheating is required!
Meanwhile mix the mayo, ketchup and sriracha sauce in a bowl. Enjoy!!
