Have you all heard about the new 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target line that’s launching in just a few days?!  The famed designer has partnered with the retail giant to launch a one of a kind limited edition line, which launches in stores on September 15.  The line will be available in both Canadian and US stores respectively, and I cannot wait!  The leather jackets are definitely on my “must have list” along with the sweetest flowered dress.

Gosh what a whirlwind week!  I am exhausted, and although there are still 3 days to go until the weekend, I really feel like this week needs to be over.  On the work front, my day-job is kicking my butt.  As summer holidays have come to an end for most people in the office all our projects are ramping up as well, its fun but definitely challenging as well.  And on the home front we made it through a whole week of Johannes’ new school routine, I made it to a TIFF premier of the Dallas Buyers Club (amazing movie that everyone MUST see), and I even managed to dye my hair…4 weeks too late but better late than never I suppose.  My biggest worry was Johannes, and how he would adapt to his new teachers and cutting back his nap from 2 hours to 1, but as with everything else  it seems I worry for no reason.  Johannes adapted seamlessly to it all, and even started sleeping in past 6am!  yay me!

Here are a few of my favorite bits and pieces of the past few weeks…I’m a little behind.

West End Farmer’s Market

I used to dread Mondays, who doesn’t really?  Weekends seem far too short and work days come too quickly.  Today I realized though, that I no longer dread Mondays, and in fact look forward to them!  You see, Mondays are when the Sorauren Farmer’s Market is here in Toronto.  This market is at the top of our street, and is full of delicious, local, organic foods.  We absolutely love going, and we try to go on an empty stomach so we can fill our bellies full of yummy food.  Last week’s food of choice was Tibetan noodles and momo.

What do you look forward to all week?

Christmas Card Photo-Shoot

When I was single I swore that I would never be one of those parents that put together a family photo card and send it out to relatives….but here I am on year two of holiday photos and card making, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a pretty busy weekend looking for houses, doing research on top areas but we did manage to do a little photo shoot of our own for our holiday cards.  We even managed to edit every image and order our holiday cards and photo books, so we feel pretty good about it all.

We decided this year not to do gifts among our extended family.  Michael, Johannes and I will exchange gifts at home but for the rest of the family we will “make” our gifts.  That means anything goes, from baking to crafts.  And I have to be honest, I’m pretty excited about it.

So while I’m not quite ready to share our holiday card with y’all just yet … here are the out-takes.

Now tell me, do you do a yearly photo card?

Making it Pretty – Free Blog Photography Workshop

Its that time of year again!  Back in the spring I decided to offer a free blog photography workshop hosted online through the forum.  Since I received many emails asking when I would host another workshop and since I’ve learned a few new tricks I decided to host another one this coming December.

The material covered will be the same as in the spring with an additional 2 topics:

– Iphoneography for Instagram

– Prettying your photos online

Same as last time I will be posting that day’s material online in the morning, let you read through it and at a designated time I will be online for one hour to answer questions.  Last time I kept the numbers pretty low to give me more opportunity to answer questions in length and I will do the same thing now.  Here are the details:

When:    December 1-2

Where:  Online – private sub-forum {by password only}

Who:      Anyone who wants to join.

Cost:      Free

Le Select Bistro

Cold and rainy days leave me craving warm soup and comfort food in general.  Primarily a delicious goat cheese quiche and french onion soup.  So last Saturday there was nothing better for us to do on our rainy day than head to our neighborhood bistro, Le Select, for yummy food.

We sat on the patio under the awning and it was pretty lovely.  M and I sipped lattes while we munched on fresh bread, yummy quiche and warm soup.  All the while Johannes colored his little chef picture and played with his car.  He had no interest in the food at hand, other than a few pieces of lettuce and some bread.

I’m almost certain it will be our last patio experience until next summer, but I guess we shall see.  Maybe September will have a few hidden surprises in store for us.
